The new DELUHI single and PV is already up on Youtube and for download in some places...
One 2ch fan was moaning that it could have been one of the foreigners who went to the live
ふざけんな she said. While it's annoying that she points straight to the foreigners I kind of agree. Damn it isn't even out yet and ... seriously mass sharing .....
I understand how hard it is to get hold of the CDs out of Japan, but most people I talked to have got it on pre-order. It would be good if the band could give foreign fans more of an incentive to buy the original Japanese press. (The various European labels are all very well and good but the snob inside all of us clamours, in varying amounts of secrecy, for the copy made in Japan. A bit like how you can buy very good Western made versions of Japanese clothes but we will still try our best to squeeze into a tiny 65cm waistband).
Here the little extras, the incentives to buy are varied and numerous. With my 1300 yen purchase of FRONTIER I get an instore ticket for the sign meeting, a signed photo and on closer inspection, one of three tokens towards a special 'thank you' live ticket.
Suddenly 1300 yen does not seem quite so bad for one song. I appreciate instores are impossible in Europe, unless the band is touring, and then they do oblige, but perhaps there needs to be an extra incentive to buy more. Collecting tickets for limited edition goods perhaps, or personalised items.
It remains a problem, as naturally people will always try and get away with having something for free. We'll never stop the mass sharing of mp3 files, but it would be nice if everyone could at least hold off until the official release date.
Or perhaps I am just being selfish as I had the privilege to get the damn thing early.
And finally, on the subject of the signed picture... a photocopied signature now, DELUHI? Too popular to sign things by hand now?
